Hey, gang! For those of you who know [livejournal.com profile] starsfell, she's in surgery. I haven't heard anything from her dad since prep began at 1115. We made plenty of "If I Die" jokes last night and, not to worry, I know where all the porn is stashed and have specific instructions on what to destroy should they come back without her this afternoon. BTW, watching her cram as much pizza and sweet tea into her pie hole before she had to stop eating at midnight...WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION.

While I wait, I've hijacked her computer and am uploading vacay pics to facebook to get my sister off my back. I was going to go to five guys, just to piss Jay off...but it's raining and I have chips and dips. That will have to be enough.

ETA: My favorite zing of the morning: Julie was playing Halo while I was trying to wake up on the couch. Eventually, she died in the game. I GOT IN, "FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY!"
For sure.

-After having to go into the gas station twice (once to prepay because my card wouldn't swipe at the pump, once to get my change and snack) I had to go back in a third time to get more change back because I was charged twice for something. I wasn't really going to worry about it, because it was like a little bit over a dollar, but I figured I should stand up for myself. And I was rewarded. With a 1928 wheatie penny! Anyone who knows me knows I will go all Ted Mosby when there's old pennies involved. IDEK. But there you go.
-Stopped at work to get my schedule...I AM BACK ON FIVE EIGHTS! STARTING NEXT WEEK! AND I WILL HAVE WEEKENDS OFF! I think this will be a life changer for me in a good way.
-Ordered new debit card so hopefully my card will actually read at the pump.
-Went to Ikea. Unfortunately, I didn't find what I was looking for...grrrrr...but I did find some cheapie mixing bowls. I really only have had one big bowl since I moved in so this is really good.
-Went to BJ's for my trial membership. Had $156 in my account. Spent $147. I am an estimating genius!
-Vacation mail included new return address labels from my university. WHOOP!
-Made it home before the rain.
-Now I'm downloading vacation pictures.

That is all.
Hey, everybody!

I'm at LAX waiting for my flight home (via O'Hare wut?). I had a pretty amazing vacation, but I'm kind of ready to be home. I wish I had my sisters with me all the time, they make me a better person.

Apparently, last week sometime the gate at my apartment complex got struck by lightning and it's still not fixed yet. I hope my truck is okay. I'm pretty sure my apartment is fine. I guess I'll find out tonight. Now I'm off to search the web to see if I can find where to get a Chicago Dog at O'Hare.
Made it to Denver. Mom's second cataract surgery went well. I am already exhausted...but I think the combination of caffeine and the promise of elecTRONica may keep me awake. Later, babies.
I'm at McCoy Field awaiting the start of my cross country trek. Tonight, I will be at elecTRONica. I would be more excited if I wasn't so tired. Yay for sleep on the plane.
Knew Lestat? KNEW LESTAT? BITCH, I MADE LESTAT!

This movie...I always forget how much I like broody Brad Pitt, and then Troy or IWAV comes on and I'm like *.* .

I CAN'T EVEN. WHAT?

3 HOURS AWAY ONE DAY AND 3,000 MILES AWAY THE NEXT...
Due to me not being able to keep my mouth shut when somebody badmouths Disney for a really lame reason, I have had a rough day on the internet. So instead of focusing on the negative, I just finished the ten things that make your life fantastic meme on tumblr. And I thought I'd spread some love via music over here, so either give me a letter and I'll upload 3-6 songs that start with that letter or some sort of prompt and I will do the same. PROMPT ME ANYTHING. I WILL DELIVER. I HAVE THE NEXT THREE DAYS OFF.
One of my very favorite episodes of ST:TNG, Remember Me, is on right now. Dr. Crusher, HBIC (in this instance, LITERALLY).

Not much going on...I'm on my third DVR in just under a month. Brighthouse is lucky their repair folks are so nice, because I would have cancelled otherwise.

OOH! I BOUGHT A NEW PHONE! Don't get too excited, it's the Sidekick 4G. I don't care what anyone says, I love Sidekicks, mainly the keyboard. Although this one (it's a Samsung, not a Sharp) has some keys in different places, I'm getting used to it fairly quickly. And what a lovely touchscreen! I thought the slide rather than swivel screen would bother me, but not so much.

Clu and Kevin Flynn are out of state...WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO??? Ram, I think you have to pick up the slack...
Just finished watching talhotblond:. It is literally one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. It's the story of a dad who became infatuated with an 18 year-old girl over IM, then killed a guy he worked with when she started IMing him, only to find out the person IMing was the girl's mother. THIS IS ONLY MADE WORSE BY THE FACT THAT I WATCHED THIS ON MOTHER'S DAY.

Hey, listen. I know my mom drives me crazy, but she's never seduced anyone and tormented them to the point where they killed another person.

I'm going to watch some Glee to counteract this and maybe be able to get some sleep tonight...
*I just loved that when they said their vows, you could hear the roar of the crowd outside.
*I'm quite amazed by the calm sea of folks walking from the mall to Buckingham. It would not look like that if it was Americans. Just sayin'.
*Proper English, FTW.
KARL WILL BE ON ATTACK OF THE SHOW TOMORROW (G4, 7PM), PROMOTING PRIEST.

CONTINUE ON WITH YOUR LIVES.
It's been a crazy week! [livejournal.com profile] blowdry, [livejournal.com profile] starsfell and I went to Cocoa on Friday to see the launch. Boo for scrubbing. And sunburns. I worked 41 hours Saturday-Monday. Exhaust. Tuesday, I watched some teevee and did some shopping. I bought a kitchen Ninja at Target because it was on sale and I wanted a food processor to make salsa. Didn't go to sleep until about midnight last night and had a YES program this morning. Luckily, the kids were awesome, and that makes it so much easier. Went to lunch with Matt since he's leaving for Hawaii in two weeks. Went back to target to get Glee S1 on sale for $19 and an air popper because I'm jealous of Jay's and [livejournal.com profile] jane_says's. Mine's not vintage, but it does match my kitchen. Came home, and because I was tired and ate way too much Chinese food, I passed out for over two hours.

I've been watching the Royal Wedding ever since. I chose BBCA's coverage, because American coverage was going to make me crazy. I've gotten to the arrival at Buckingham Palace, and have to stop for the day.

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THIS COVERAGE:
*BBCA not condescending, much like I'm sure all American coverage was. You are expected to know who the Duke of York is and what the slang is. Keep up, Americans.
*British people are hilarious
*The Abbey was so, so beautifully decorated, especially the tomb of the unknown
*Kate's dress, class, and simplicity
*Harry turning to look at Kate then turning to his brother and saying, "Wait until you see her." Melt.
*Mr. Middleton seems like a totally awesome dad, and he wore a top hat. I JUST CAN'T EVEN.
*English kids ARE SO ADORABLE.
*They did a fantastic job of making this wedding accessible to commoners. This could have been the most pretentious event ever. And it wasn't. It was simple, beautiful, and elegant.
*They sang the wrong words to "My Country 'Tis of Thee." Don't hate. I know. It's a joke.
*Also, Harry needs a haircut.

I think I shall go have some salsa and watch the rest of AOTS and then, perhaps, some Return of the Jedi.
HAPPY JUDGEMENT DAY, EVERYBODY!
I reported to work this morning and was promptly sent away! Hooray! I was so not in the mood. Plus, two hours of report pay!

I had a pretty rough work week. Friday, I worked 17 hours, Saturday 8, Sunday 14 and 10 on Monday. Needless to say, when I got home today, I pretty much vegged out.

Also, in my obsession over Garrett Hedlund, I inadvertently made myself extremely homesick. I watched Country Strong (then downloaded all his songs I KNOW I DON'T EVEN LIKE COUNTRY I HAVE LOST MY MIND). Then I found Friday Night Lights at Target for $4. I was very close to calling my scheduler and seeing when I could take a week, but I figured it would pass. It hasn't.

I am getting my cable and internet connected tomorrow! \o/ I went to Best Buy to get a wireless router and walked out with $169...then went to the grocery and couldn't cover it with my debit card. Two credit card purchases in one day. I am winning at fiscal responsibility.

Of course, if Skynet goes live on Thursday, I suppose I won't have much to worry about...

Instead of coming home after work and being a responsible adult, I had a Future Ex-Husband Double Feature! Country Strong and Unstoppable. Both were pretty good.

I really liked Country Strong; the horrible amount of country music was totally balanced out by how much of it was sung by Garrett. Also, suggesting a swimsuit competition as a way to get a girl naked? PRO.

Unstoppable was predictable, but I loved blue-collar, jackass, I brandished a gun at a cop Chris Pine.

Overall, not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Now, BACONCAKES FOR DINNER.
I haven't really posted yet about the new place. Mostly because I am frustrated. Not that I don't love it, but there have been several things that have gone not right (if not flat out wrong). The most notable that my brand new carpet has fleas. And I don't have any pets. I know it's flea season and they could have come in any number of ways, but damn it. BRAND. NEW. CARPET. They sprayed on the 21st and that seemed to do the trick, but a couple of nights ago, I started getting fresh bites. So they are spraying tomorrow and shampooing my carpets on Monday. Even more frustrating is the fact that I washed every soft good I own when I moved into this place. And now, I'm basically having to do that all over again. But, I suppose if that's my biggest problem, I've got it made.

I haven't really unpacked much, because of said bugs and being out of town. (Yay, I got to see my goddaughter last week!)

Also, my upstairs neighbors are serious stompers. I hope I don't sound like that to my downstairs neighbor.

After I get the fleas taken care of, I have one more piece of furniture that Alex and Mark are giving me (a chair and a half with matching ottoman). I'll need to do some rearranging, but I'll figure that out later.

Not having cable (and more acutely, legal internet) is not working for me, so I'll be setting that up next week.

I feel like all I've been doing for the past month is cleaning. And I guess that's what I'll be doing the rest of the afternoon so the bug man can come tomorrow.

This is going to be an interesting ride...
