D'oh.

So last night, I accidentally turned my laptop into a desktop. I tripped over the power cord while it was plugged in. Now it won't turn on while plugged in (and my battery has about 5 minutes of life, fully charged). So I was okay (it's almost 4 years old). Then, freaked out because there's some stuff on the drive that I haven't backed up (most notably, my goddaughter's 2nd birthday pics). I was laying in bed this morning and had a eureka moment. My dock doesn't have the computer plug directly into the power port on the computer (but you do have to plug it in to a port on the dock), so if it's the port on the computer that's bad and not the cable, I can use the computer! I plugged everything in and it works like a charm! So, now I have a desktop (until my b-day...I guilted my step-mom into a new one). At least I can back everything up.

THAT'S IT!

I'VE HAD IT! If you need me, I'll be over here, tagging entries. (How else am I supposed to find all my Kyle Reese-related posts?)
So. I spent the day recording BSG onto DVD so I could delete it from my DVR. Thinking they would put 4.0 and 4.5 out together. Because I'm stupid. And then I see [livejournal.com profile] lizardbeth_j's post about getting her DVDs. THEN I CHECK THE RELEASE DATE. Which seems to be today. Awesome. *kelly!fail*
I feel dumb.  I need help.  Okay, there used to be a show (I'm sure it was on cable, like Spike or USA) about soldiers in Iraq.  And they sang the theme song at the end (it was always incredibly awkward).  And there was the college graduate with glasses and the cheating wife at home and the girls who got in trouble.  WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THAT SHOW???

I've been trying to go through old posts, but I don't remember how long ago it was...wait...was it called Over There?
Things I may or may not have learned about Thomas Dekker in the last 30 minutes:

1. He falls within my 14-year rule.
2. His myspace page background is so embarrassing I had to navigate away before I read (or heard) any actual content.
3. He played Henry Burleigh in 2 episodes of ST: Voyager.

I find only number 3 awesome.
13. I was reading You Are Dumb this morning and I read the word underfed as un-derfed, not under-fed. And I couldn't figure out what being derfed was. And then I chuckled at myself for being a moron.

14. That is really all. Maybe.
...if you're going to use the back roads, know the back roads.

I took the back roads home this afternoon (actually, I was heading to Publix). Now, after the last subdivision, the back roads turn to dirt, which is fine, I own a truck. But I missed a very important turn and ended up in what can only be described as a sand dune. I freaked out, because although where I ended up is still within walking distance of very populous areas, it feels like the middle of nowhere. Spent ammo, trash dumped everywhere and animals of the wild variety. Luckily, a guy I work with has a second job where he drives a heavy truck with a winch. He was at work tonight and not busy. Matt agreed to come and sit with me until Mike got there (because of the aforementioned freak out). And Mike came and saved the day. But as we were leaving, both Matt and I got stuck. So, Mike came back and pulled us both out. I finally got to Publix (3 hours later), we got what we needed and I'm finally back home. OMGYEA!

If I had known that was how the afternoon was going to go, I wouldn't have spent all morning making icons. But I did. 17 new icons!!!! I also (before getting stuck), went to the coinstar machine, because now if you turn in your coins, you can get an amazon.com gift certificate and not have to pay the counting fee. I got all finished, but the thing had a stupid problem and gave me a regular receipt that you have to take to the register. I told them what happened and they gave me the fee back. That was nice.

And, brightening my day even more, I got a beautiful card in the mail from [livejournal.com profile] abigail89. It got hung up at the post office (a little bit of damage), but it came right when I needed it!

So, in conclusion, the right people come into my life when I need them most! Yea for friends!

It has become apparent to me that I should have re-read OotP.

Hooray!

My new Sidekick came!!! I'm almost okay with having to pay such a high deductible. I mean, the screen literally broke less than 24 hours ago and my replacement is on the charger.

I'm feeling a little better now...still tired, but more excited now that the phone mess is squared away.

So, off to shower and nap...and let this be a reminder to all...don't carry your phone in your back pocket. Especially if you have as much back there as I do. Or this could happen to you:

Click. If you dare. )
I knew something would happen to screw today up. My mom kept me up basically all night, first with the watching the BSG mini (which I kind of forceD her to do) then with the snoring. Through the sleep, I think I remember her saying she liked it...that's good, 'cause you're watching it tonight, no matter what. So after waking up to snoring the fifteenth time, I moved to the couch (apx. 4:30 am). That was fine until Andre woke up. So, since Matt had an opening shift at MK this morning, I moved to his room and shut the door (apx 6:30). That solved the bird issue, but my subconscious took over and made me get up so I wouldn't miss the DHL driver who's supposed to deliver my replacement phone today.

So basically, I'm just trying to stay awake until someone else in the house wakes up...at that point, I'm getting back into MY bed and taking a nap.

If I wasn't so tired, I know I would be squeeing with joy for today. Today is my first all-new BSG, as I came to the fandom at the end of April (still thanking the gods for [livejournal.com profile] lizardlaugh. I am excited. Really. And we're going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this afternoon. Am excited by this very much as well, even though it doesn't sound like it. I don't think I'll make it to a midnight buying of HBP...I guess I'll just have to wait and see...I might be wound up enough after BSG.

Okay, everyone have a super day. As soon as my new phone comes I'm sure I'll be fine.
My SideKick is broken!!! WAHHHHHHH!!!!! I had it in my back pocket and I must have leaned up against something and cracked the LCD. And wtf, my insurance deductible is $110? Ouch. But I cannot live without it, so I paid.
Ever say something so dumb (or that can be construed that way) in someone else's journal and not realize it until they comment back and it's too late to do anything about it.

*points to self*

*runs and hides*

I really did mean it as a compliment...it just didn't sound that way.
Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has the luck of the Irish follow them for the rest of the year!

ETA: Did I actually just type "Valentine's Day?" Okay, well, I'm working entirely too much this week...what I meant to say is Happy St. Patrick's Day. (They're both Saints...leave me alone.)
I just realized I can have my own mood set. HEE! There goes the rest of the day.

And I really need an new layout...but I'm so dumb at these kinds of things. Every time I go to switch it up, I end up putting it right back the way it was. Humph.

But new moods!!!!
