Happy Star Wars Day!

May the Fourth be with you!
5 hours and 24 minutes until 18 DAYS OF VACATION, Y'ALL. Like woah! I'm so excited. And Star Wars Weekends starts tomorrow! Any merch requests? Speak now or forever...

That is all.
So, I made some goals for the year, chief among them to read 50 books this year. For some reason, it's the one I want to keep the most. I guess to prove to myself that I can do it. In what I find to be an utterly embarrassing admission, I have just finished book one. An epic, 137-page, YA tome called Star Wars: The Last of the Jedi #3, Underworld.

He'd take stormtroopers over memories any day. )

So, I'll be moving on to the next book in the series, then The Chronicles of Narnia (That's seven books, right?) Maybe I can get back on track...
...or you could just tell me to STFU and stop being a wussy. Cut for a little girly TMI. )

On a totally different note...I was going to do a whole big Star Wars: Episodes I-VI marathon today, but I fear it's a little late to start now. So I think I'll just watch III and save the marathon for next week. I have laundry and beading to get done...and maybe some sleeping.
With no outside encouragement from me whatsoever, MY LITTLE SISTER HAS BECOME A STAR WARS GEEK!!one!

I'm sorry to be so capslocky about it, but...my sisters and I have never lived together, and I try very hard not to impose my geekitude onto them. Chris and I have always loved Harry Potter together (in fact, she loved the books far before I even heard of them). But the other day, I sent an email to the Colorado fam with some pictures attached (including this one )) because the stepmom wanted to see how good the camera they got me for Christmas is.

So, I got an email from Chris yesterday that said thanks for sending the pictures...especially the star wars one because i've just recently become a star wars freak! Then she goes on to tell me that all her friends are and they're jedi and she's a padawan and how they fight with plastic lightsabers and I swear I almost cried. My father is probably having a heart attack. I have a feeling he really doesn't want those two to turn out like me...but...MWAH!!!!

And her favorite movie is (insert giggle here) Episode 2. That couldn't have anything to do with Hayden, and the fact she's 18, ya think?

In less geeky news, my vacation got approved! Yay! So I will be going to College Station and visiting my mom and eating freebirds and finally seeing Bonfire Memorial and going to an Aggie Football game (which I haven't done since the week after bonfire fell) and going to First Yell (my first) with Bill Engvall as the special guest and visiting my grandparents. Yay! I guess I'm going to have to get out the Aggie primer and relearn all the yells. But I still know Beat the Hell Outta t. u. Whoop! (In retrospect, that wasn't that much less geeky, oh well).
...and I blame [livejournal.com profile] lizardlaugh. April sucked...I was so excited for May...and then I fell into a fandom I can't get out of. My May has been consumed by Battlestar Galactica, and it's [livejournal.com profile] lizardlaugh who told us all we were fools for not watching...so I watched. (And now I have ANOTHER tv!girl crush.) Thanks.

Now I'm gonna say it. If you're not watching BSG you're missing some of THE BEST. TV. EVER. And fanfiction...but that's for a different post.

I think I even missed some of the Star Wars excitement because of it (that and I spent a little too much of it in March when CW2 came out).

And so, if you're dropping by because I friended you recently (I friended 5 or 10 today), it's probably because you are a BSG fan. Hi. I try not to bite. Hard.

RL...am doing okay...i start overnights for One Mighty Party tomorrow night. Hee. OMP. Family's almost in town.
So. Much. Fun.

We really didn't do all that much. We had that, "we'll be back, we can do it later," attitude. But OMG it was fun. The pictures don't do it justice, unfortunately.

You will look at my Star Wars Weekends pictures... )
Day one Star Wars Weekends rocked...but I am crapped out, so I'll post pics tomorrow.

I will say, the Anakin look alike is about 90% Hayden...I about broke my neck when I saw him out of the corner of my eye.
In the past twenty-four hours, I have:

Seen Star Wars EpisodeIII: Revenge of the Sith

Watched episodes 1-3 of Battlestar Galactica

Slept 3 hours

Watched episodes 7-13 of Battlestar Galactica

Watched Wednesday's Alias

Watched Wednesday's Lost

Seen Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith a second time.

After I got home at 3:15 from the movie, I found that I had not only a care package from my mother with Star Wars goodies, but also the full season of BSG on DVD was in the mail as well. So I watched 3 episodes, fell asleep at about 6, and woke up at 9 and have been watching BSG ever since. I have 3 more eps to go, then I have to find the time to watch Lost and Alias, go to the movie again at 8:30, and somehow get back to sleep to get to Opening Day Star Wars Weekends tomorrow. EEeeee!!!!!

I think if too much SciFi was bad for you, I'd be in a coma right now.

Last call for Star Wars Weekends merch! Your wish is my command!

And...I love Bail Organa.
Brilliant. Maybe not perfect...but...Fucking brilliant.

I have no coherent thought....just OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!

I'm going to try to sleep, but I doubt I'll be able to.

I'm in the theatre! Third row, but digital, so woo!!!

55 minutes!!!
I was at PI about an hour ago and there was already a line! Hee!

And there were two guys in full costume, one Stormtrooper and one Clonetrooper!

I'm headed to Jen's party then to the show!

7.5 hours!
14 hours!!! EEEeeeEEE!!!
Four days from right now, I'll be sitting in PI's digital theater, reading "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

And, I made four new BSG icons.

I should go to bed, but I'm wide awake.

Star Wars is only 8 days away...I wish I was more excited. I think I used all my excitement up too soon. I'm sure I'm just tired. I'll be more excited later.

I finally got around to seeing the GoF trailer. I may have to dodge some rotten veggies, but I didn't love it. GoF has never really been my favorite. I'm sure I'm just tired. I'll be more excited later.

I'm going to rec a fic. I know. But this demands to be read by any fans of the new BSG. It is crazy good. By [livejournal.com profile] rheanna27, Twelve is simply one of the best fan fiction pieces I've read. Ever. It's 12 chapters, with the last one being posted tomorrow. Trust me, it's worth your time.

Okay, I have to get ready for work (overnight...blech).

My eyes!!!

Apr. 23rd, 2005 08:57 pm
See...this is why I need the power to unsee things...because it gets to be less than a month until the movie...and I get curious...and I click on seemingly innocent links...and I see things I shouldn't. And now...I can't unsee them.

And OMGWTFGFFA!!!!11eleven!!!1!
I got my midnight Star Wars tickets! And the vacation to go with, so I'm off for Star Wars Weekends!

I wish I was more excited. Those three exclamation points are really lying. I haven't been excited about anything this week. I think it's because I'm sick, my grandpa's still in the hospital and I'm staring down a crazy work week. Oh well, I'll be excited later.

On another note, am I the only one who didn't really like Wednesday's Alias? Joel Gray just doesn't do it for me as Clone!Slone.

centerspire: ([sw] Seriously. Bad. Choices.)
Like, whoa.

How am I going to wait another 47 (hee.) days.

On a side note...it is going to be all crying all the time for poor, pregnant Ami.
Yesterday, I was at Barnes & Noble not looking for anything Star Wars related (I swear). I found the book I was looking for and then took a turn around the kids' section, as I am an avid reader of novels for young readers (my maturity level, I'm sure). New Artemis Fowl, not out yet...new Inheritance, not out yet, new Star Wars post-EpIII series not out ye...wha? There it sat, on the shelf, more than a full month early, the first book of "The Last of the Jedi" series. It wasn't a choice, I had to get it. All about Obi-Wan in his post-Anakin angsty goodness. I was a little concerned...would there be potentially massive EpIII spoilers? But, I had to read it, and of course, read it in one sitting this morning. Only two spoilery items, but nothing that comes close to the spoilers I tripped over for EpII, leading to my unfortunate downfall. So sad, so angsty (in the beginning), SO full of memories of Qui-Gon and Siri. But also, an interesting tidbit that could (or not, you know how EU is) reveal something interesting about the end of the film...cut for delicate eyes, even though I don't really think it's that spoilery. )

On a different front, I have presentation for class tonight, so I should probably go practice.
