HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KETTLE.

YOU GOT THE BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT ANYONE COULD THINK OF, AND I WAS GLAD TO HAVE CRABS AND BITCHES WITH YOU! ILU, NO MAUVE.
I will post about RL later, but there's two things I have to put out there.

1) If you're going to use the most popular entertainment tag line OF ALL TIME, the two word version, on your icon...maybe make sure you spell both words right. I'm just sayin'.

2) And yes, I am doing this to incite a Julie!Riot!

Texas A&M University places a bid to house one of the retiring space shuttles.

Yes, my alma mater is better than yours.

I'm thinking that the Smithsonian trades in Enterprise for an upgrade, and A&M gets Enterprise. I like this plan.

Shhhh....

Nobody tell Julie, but I bought the space dick shuttle cookie cutter when we were at KSC on Tuesday. And I made rice krispie treats. And I just might save her one for Saturday...if she's nice to me...
Just got home from [livejournal.com profile] starsfell's Super Sweet Sixteen Party. Wish I could have stayed, as the three Gaga Memaw's Taco shenanigans are bound to be EPIC. But, work is kicking my ass. Also, Spock made the fiercest birthday cake I've ever seen.
WHY DO I HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK TOMORROW?

So, Monday, Patty and I got up early and went to Ikea (I didn't buy anything)! Some of Patty's friends came over for lunch at our house, but I had to excuse myself, because I guess Ikea wore me out. Her friends left after lunch, and Patty, Karen and I...WENT BACK TO IKEA. Two Ikea trips in one day...legendary. (I didn't buy anything the second time either!!!) Then we went to Beach for ice cream and drinks! Jennie invited me to go apartment hunting with them the next day to a place I was going to look at anyway, so yay!

Tuesday, early, Patty, Karen and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Patty got on the road and Karen and I went back to my place. Then I went to Camden with Jennie and Keith. They both signed pre-leases and I got some food for thought. Not really where I want to live, but a really nice place with friends close. We ate at Sweet Tomatoes and then Keith and I went to Michael's and Target after Jennie went to work.

I got up early today and rode six miles. Woo. Came home and got the laundry going. Went to the Post Office, took some stuff to the storage unit, and went to Cracker Barrel for lunch (IDK, I really wanted Chicken Pot Pie). Packed some stuff. Watch some West Wing. Wrapped Julie's birthday present. Went back to storage unit with a few more things. Went to DTD to get the last piece of Julie's present. Put all of my jewelry supplies in the storage cabinets. Am exhausted.

THEN TO FIND OUT ALEX GOT HURT!!! WHYYYYY!!!! NOOOOOOO!!! deep breaths.
I SPENT $260 AT IKEA TODAY! I BOUGHT MY NEW DINNERWARE! I'm very excited. I bought a very simple beige set. Twelve three piece setting, plus 6 teacups and saucers, 6 coffee mugs (yeah, they're different), 6 oversized bowls, two round serving plates two square serving plates and a Japanese dinner and serving set for two. It amazes me that they make all this in like eight different countries, but it all somehow matches. Also, some storage bins for moving. And lingonberry juice boxes! Found more furniture ideas...changed my mind on the couch...need Ikea gift certificates for Christmas and Birthday. I'm going to have to go elsewhere for the silverware...they don't really have anything I like.

Also, I bought [livejournal.com profile] starsfell's birthday present (I pretty much just gave it away...act surprised, please). I think I know which pop star I'll be going to her party as...but it's a surprise.

I survived yesterday, just barely...I ended up working from 6:30a-12:45a. So next week will be a nice paycheck.

I am becoming increasingly excited about the number of people that will be here in the next 5 weeks.

HP trailer!!! I wonder if [livejournal.com profile] hp_reads is going to do a re-read before November. I definitely need to read DH again.

I don't have anything else to report!
If, in the last week and a half, you comforted me, told me you loved me, gave me advice, called my roommate some variation of jerk, or told me I CAN DO IT, I love you more than you know. Thank you for your kind words.

If you are [livejournal.com profile] starsfell, I could bake sugar cookies every day for the rest of my life and it wouldn't even make a dent in what I owe you for listening to me cry, taking me to KSC, letting me be nosy about your bills, saving a turtle, planning future IKEA trips, and just generally being awesome.

I am feeling better. (Although, strangely, not today.) I got to spend some time alone with Mike while Matt was in church on Sunday. I don't know. I go from being really okay to still burned. I feel like I lost my best friend but gained two good friends. IDEK.

My mantras for the foreseeable future:
You didn't do anything wrong.
It will be okay.
You can do it.
Not changing friends means understanding friends change.
A new place means new stuff!

My mom will be here with her best friend Mary on Tuesday, and I don't have a day off between now and then, so there will be a lot of late night cleaning. I can do zat.

Also, I didn't get a chance to say this right after it happened (since my world, you know, imploded), but I had a YES program two weeks ago with eighth graders, and one of them LOOKED LIKE TINY ROBERT DOWNEY JR. HE HAD TRANSITIONS GLASSES AND EVERYTHING. AND HIS NAME WAS KOSTA. IT WAS AMAZING. I WANTED TO SQUISH HIM.

I'm "happy" to report that I'm doing much better than my last post. I'm finally getting over my cold. I'm still exhausted emotionally, physically, and mentally.

Thank God for good friends with cool heads. I had lunch with Alex on Monday. She told me many, many things. All of which I needed to hear. Most especially, that it's not my fault. I went to KSC with [livejournal.com profile] starsfell on Tuesday, and she, of course, soothes my soul in a way I can't describe. [WHO SAYS BEING A GQMF DOESN'T HAVE IT'S PERKS?]

I'm now looking forward to living alone. Buying a ridiculous amount of home goods from IKEA. And many other things (not the least of which, running the dishwasher when I want).

I'm not looking forward to packing. Finding eight years of belongings in mingled places. Of finding an apartment. Of moving. Of being alone.

Yes, I know I'm not alone.

I'm still very upset. But not at having to move. I'm upset at losing my best friend, even though we still live in the same house.

I know I will be okay. I know a lot of things can happen in a year. It still doesn't really feel like it right now.
IN CELEBRATION OF MY SECOND-FAVORITE TEAM (this week) WINNING THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (suck it, tu), IT'S TIME TO KEEP MY END OF THE GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT.

To recap: [livejournal.com profile] starsfell and I made a gentleman's agreement regarding the outcome of the Independence Bowl. The Aggies were behind when time ran out, so I owe Jay a piece of fandom related work that includes her school. THIS IS THAT.

So, Jay, I hope you like fluffy-cracky-threesome-baby!fic. If not, I totes found something that will make you forget about that when I was in Japan (the one in Epcot, not the one in the Pacific). You'll get it eventually, with some sugar cookies, I think.

For your reading pleasure and to fulfill my obligation, I offer:

Title: In Space, No One Can Hear You Smirk (Except When They Totally Can)
Fandom: STXI
Pairing: Kirk/Chapel/McCoy
Rating: IDEK <--can that be my rating? No? Fine...PG-13, for people sharing a bed.
Word Count: 369 (heh...there was totally supposed to be another sentence, but I couldn't bring myself to it when I saw this word count.)
Disclaimer: Oh, please.
