I saw The Dark Knight today. I really loved it. I thought the length was perfect.
To be really coherent, I'll need two things: 1) To not be pissed at my roommate (see below). 2) A rewatch. If my mood doesn't improve, I'll probably be going back tomorrow.
Anyway, HOW COULD JIM GORDON DIE? JIM GORDON CAN'T DIE! HE'S FREAKING COMMISSIONER GORDON! Oh, okay. I kept going, when's he going to show back up because he's obviously not dead. But even with the sideways glances at the driver of the van, it never occurred to me that it was him. Because I'm slow.
I think
timjr said it best. It's not Heath Ledger playing the Joker on screen. IT'S THE JOKER. Yes. Amazing.
I know, it's a comic book movie, but I kept looking at Two Face going...NO WAY! HIS LIGAMENTS ARE EXPOSED. HE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STAND UP, HIS FACE IS SO BADLY DISFIGURED! But, I digress. It still looked pretty wicked. I'm sad he had to die, but that's more for
personal attachment reasons, so...yeah. He had to be the hero, I get it. But, BUT!
Rachel & Bruce...meh. I just, that letter. Thanks for burning it, Alfred! Can you imagine how broody Bruce would be after he read that?!
Oh, Alfred. Be my dad, please.
I keep forgetting that Gordon doesn't know that Bruce Wayne is Batman. That being said, I LOVED THE SCENE WHERE BRUCE CRASHES THE LAMBORGHINI. GENIUS! GENIUS, I SAY! Trying to catch the light!!!!
I guess that's probably it for now.
And I was flying high off TDK until my roommate came home and made me feel about three inches tall...TWICE. Look, if I need that, I'll call my mom. So, I'm pissed and upset and sitting here listening to Dr. Horrible, AND EVEN NPH CAN'T GET ME OUT OF THE FUNK. I AM NOT AMUSED.
