Hello from Key West! I am having a pretty good time, although, we're starting to get on each others nerves a little. We've found some great food (after we left Duval), and I'm more than a little pink. Excellent.

Since I'm on vaca, I've had some time to catch up on my reading. Here's where [livejournal.com profile] morgaine22 defriends me, because I'm going to talk about SW EU. I wouldn't have been so surprised if I had known ahead of time that this was the last book in the series... )

I'm starting O! Pioneers tomorrow.

Also, boo for kicking Marquis off tonight, So You Think You Can Dance, boo.
So, I made some goals for the year, chief among them to read 50 books this year. For some reason, it's the one I want to keep the most. I guess to prove to myself that I can do it. In what I find to be an utterly embarrassing admission, I have just finished book one. An epic, 137-page, YA tome called Star Wars: The Last of the Jedi #3, Underworld.

He'd take stormtroopers over memories any day. )

So, I'll be moving on to the next book in the series, then The Chronicles of Narnia (That's seven books, right?) Maybe I can get back on track...
Matt did not have to deal with the BGD for the afternoon, so I dragged him to Batman Begins. (BGD=Big Gay Drama) Let's just say that "comic book" movies are not his type of movie, but there was Christian Bale involved, so he agreed. After the Fantastic 4 preview, he actually said, "that looks kinda good." I was so excited. I think I'm finally rubbing off on him. Hee. That or he just thought the guy playing the Human Torch is hot (pun intended). The movie was really great. Was it just me, or did anyone else think of Talh when Liam was talking about his wife? Yeah, just me. That's cool.

Alrighty, I'm off to bed to sleep until I wake up (thank God).
Yesterday, I was at Barnes & Noble not looking for anything Star Wars related (I swear). I found the book I was looking for and then took a turn around the kids' section, as I am an avid reader of novels for young readers (my maturity level, I'm sure). New Artemis Fowl, not out yet...new Inheritance, not out yet, new Star Wars post-EpIII series not out ye...wha? There it sat, on the shelf, more than a full month early, the first book of "The Last of the Jedi" series. It wasn't a choice, I had to get it. All about Obi-Wan in his post-Anakin angsty goodness. I was a little concerned...would there be potentially massive EpIII spoilers? But, I had to read it, and of course, read it in one sitting this morning. Only two spoilery items, but nothing that comes close to the spoilers I tripped over for EpII, leading to my unfortunate downfall. So sad, so angsty (in the beginning), SO full of memories of Qui-Gon and Siri. But also, an interesting tidbit that could (or not, you know how EU is) reveal something interesting about the end of the film...cut for delicate eyes, even though I don't really think it's that spoilery. )

On a different front, I have presentation for class tonight, so I should probably go practice.

Laters.
Now...I could tell you all the things I loved about the trailer...but recaping the entire trailer seems a bit excessive, so...I'll just go watch it again for the 400th time. None of us have to admit we recorded the OC, though, right?

I will say one thing...Obi-Wan...I love you. I wish I was Siri and not dead. (EU jab directed at Niki for really no reason but to imagine the accompanying eye roll).
Not much to say. Overnights at work are kicking my ass. But...whatever.

I finished reading Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, but I'll spare Niki. Let me just say, not the best SW novel ever.

Just wanted to wish my flist a good day!

So, went to the dentist.  Seems I need a crown and a filling that may turn into a root canal.  Yea!

Oh well.

And now...for a special announcement.  For those of you who know me as an HP fangirl, don't worry, that's not going to change.  What is going to happen over the next few months is a (not so) subtle and understandable shift back to my fandom of origin...the reason I even have internet buddies.  No, not Dawson's Creek, but that was a good guess.  Yes, kids, I will be talking about Star Wars more and more in the coming months until you will be begging me to be talking about something else.  Fear not.  The Kelly of old will return, but it will probably take a while.

For those of you who knew me when I was all Star Wars, all the time...I can't wait to get into all those old discussions again.  (But this time I'm definitely going in unspoiled-I hope)

For those of you who know me in real life, bless your poor little hearts.

And now, in keeping with the special announcement, I'm going to talk about Labyrinth of Evil, the lead in novel for RotS.  I will spare my flist and put it behind a cut.

Now, two reasons why I would join whatever Count Dooku was leading, evil or not, an EU discussion which, on a scale of one to ten, Niki will find interesting: 2.  )
