D'oh.

So last night, I accidentally turned my laptop into a desktop. I tripped over the power cord while it was plugged in. Now it won't turn on while plugged in (and my battery has about 5 minutes of life, fully charged). So I was okay (it's almost 4 years old). Then, freaked out because there's some stuff on the drive that I haven't backed up (most notably, my goddaughter's 2nd birthday pics). I was laying in bed this morning and had a eureka moment. My dock doesn't have the computer plug directly into the power port on the computer (but you do have to plug it in to a port on the dock), so if it's the port on the computer that's bad and not the cable, I can use the computer! I plugged everything in and it works like a charm! So, now I have a desktop (until my b-day...I guilted my step-mom into a new one). At least I can back everything up.
