Okay, there will may be some actual content, but it will still be in the form of meme, because that's how I roll.

I was going to go to the bar tonight and try to get drunk for free and pick-up the bartender (which would be pretty easy considering the bartender is my girlfriend), but instead I'm watching Heroes and catching up with the internets at large. Because I'm lazy. And I need to do laundry.

I've been quite for a while. Why, you ask? (Or are you just thanking a higher being?) My mom showed up. At my house. For three weeks. With two days notice. Yeah.

So I've been occupied. And I've been tagged for a meme by [livejournal.com profile] morgaine22. And I'll tell you some cool stuff I've done in the past month via the meme. And then, you know, do the actual meme.

1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
2. Tag seven people to do the same.
3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.
Screw you, meme instructions! You're not the boss of me!

1. Perhaps the coolest, Mom and I went to see Blue Man Group at Universal. It was such an interesting show. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it (in a good way). I'm thinking about taking Jen for our anniversary.

2. I took a half day off work and went to Titusville to see the shuttle launch. Totally rad. The rumble from the shock waves is killer. We had a really great time and I'm glad I skipped work and class to go.

3. Did I mention that my mom was here for three weeks? Did I mention that she came with my roommate's mom? Yeah. It was scary at some points, but we all came out of it alive.

4. Because of various discounts and coupons, I bought $350 worth of clothes for $115. I rock the shop.

5. OMG. My life is so totally boring I can't think of any more.

6. FL Matt got a new boyfriend. A fantastic, wonderful, lovely, funny man that makes him so happy. And the first month of their relationship survived our moms. That has to count for something.

7. I started my pineapple-infused tequila for Saturday's party last night. It already looks and smells so wonderful that I want to take a big swig now.

8. Seriously, a lot more happened while my mom and Ms. Kathy were here, but my brain no function. It's my Friday. Cut me some slack.

9. Oh yeah, the same day that I went to the shuttle launch, the purchaser for our park resigned. No two weeks notice. May be some growth opportunity, but I'm not holding my breath.

10. I got nominated for Partners in Excellence! It's a recognition program for cast, by cast. Even though I know who nominated me and why, it's still pretty cool. Even better was the look on my manager's face when he told me. Stop looking so surprised! You should have given me that promotion and now you have proof!

11. Okay, I guess I remembered a few more.

1. I sleep with all my bedding upside down. That is, with the foot of the bedding at the head of the bed. I started this when my grandmother made a down comforter cover for me (which I love), but she put velcro closures at the top. And yes, even when that blanket isn't on the bed, I still make the bed "upside down."

2. The Sorcerer's Stone is my cure for insomnia. That's not to say I think it's boring. But it's like a security blanket for me. If I put the DVD in when I go to bed, I will always fall asleep. I hear Dudley's watch chime midnight, but i'm asleep before Hagrid and Harry make it to Diagon Alley. I've seen the beginning of the movie 200-300 times, and the end less than 20.

3. I have subscribed to Entertainment Weekly since the summer I graduated from High School. I still have every copy. I really don't love it the way I used to, but can't bring myself to cancel my subscription.

4. I love gnomes. I just bought a new one who needs a name. His cap is pulled down past his nose, so I want to name him after the character on Fat Albert, but I can't remember the character's name. Mushmouth?

5. My 30th birthday is rapidly approaching. I am mortified. Not really because I'll be 30 (it's just an age, right?), but because there's so much I haven't done. And, to a certain extent, I wasted my 20s. Whatever. I can't dwell on this or I'll lose my mind.

6. I generally feel that if I can't finish something, I don't want to even attempt it. Instead of taking things in steps, I just won't do it. So I have many projects sitting, waiting. My room is a disaster, because I can't clean it all in one sitting. This also makes it hard to write (and beta-read, sorry [livejournal.com profile] lyssie, I haven't forgotten).

7. Despite not being a "girly girl," I love making traditional crafts. Especially in non-traditional ways. Cross stitch, beading, chain maille, plastic canvas and embroidery. I really love them all. And I will do one until I'm sick of it, then switch to the next. At least that way, I'm always doing something, if not always the same thing. Which leads me to the next meme:

And one more meme, just because I think it's cool.

Pay It Forward: I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people anyone who leaves a comment here on my blog.* I don’t yet know what that gift will be, but you will receive it within 365 days. The only thing you have to do in return is "pay it forward" by making a similar agreement on your blog. *Because I have a relatively small flist, I don't have a problem extending this to everyone, but I don't expect everyone else to go beyond 3 people. But, you have to tell me 3 things in your comment: your wrist size (can be approximate, but if you can measure, it would be helpful), whether or not you have pierced ears, and if you have a problem with displaying a full naughty word in your personal space (vs. sh*t or b!tch, vs. no naughty words at all).

Titusville, right down by the waterfront, really is the best place to watch a shuttle launch. You can feel the rocket in your bones, standing there. And at night, the reflections are spectacular. Sigh. Some days, I really do miss living in FL. And then I remember the BUGS.

Yes. Totally amazing. It was really so nice that day. We found a nice spot in the shade and it wasn't too bad. Florida, strangely, doesn't feel like home, but I doubt I'll leave anytime soon.

Honey, EVERYONE wastes their 20's. It's really no big deal. Just don't spend the first half of your 30's trying to get over and accept the fact like I did. Enjoy them. ;-)

Pineapple infused tequila sounds yummy. :-P~~~~

Wrist size is medium to large--I think 8 inches around (or so)...I have pierced ears and I love, love, LOVE me some fucking profanity! :-D

Thanks! Hopefully, I'll be too busy in the next few weeks to dwell on it. ;)

When is your birthday?

Wrist size 7.5"
Pierced ears
No naughty words (kids around, ya know)

I'll return the favor: would you like a bracelet (HP theme or no?), a hand-stitched journal, or a book thong (HP book or Dan).

September 10th.

Oh noes! So many great things to decide from. Let me get back to you (although, I'm leaning toward an HP bracelet).
